Pakistan thrash Namibia to qualify for semi-finals of T20 World Cup

Pakistan continued its winning streak in T20 World Cup as greens shirts beat Namibia by 45 runs to reach semi-finals.

Pakistan set 190 target for Namibia which kept Pakistani players engaged in a big chase. Namibians, however, managed to score 144 for five in 20 overs.

Earlier, skipper Babar Azam and fellow opener Mohammad Rizwan hit half-centuries to guide Pakistan to 189-2 in their Twenty20 World Cup Super 12 match with Namibia in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Babar notched his 23rd Twenty20 international fifty with a 49-ball 70 while Rizwan finished with a 50-ball 79 not out after Pakistan won the toss and batted on a greenish Sheikh Zayed Stadium pitch.

Pakistan’s opening partners Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan got several T20I records registered to their names during their T20 World Cup match against Namibia at Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

The records include most century partnerships ever, most runs as batting partners in a calendar year, most T20I runs by a batter in a calendar year, most scores of 50 or more in T20Is a captain and most runs after first 60 innings of a player’s career in T20Is.
