PML-N's Rana Muhammad Saleem bagged 47,649 votes followed by PTI’s Noreen Nishat Daha 34,030 votes, and PPP’s Syed Wisaq 15,059 votes.


Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Thursday retained Khanewal district's PP-206 constituency, as their candidate Rana Muhammad Saleem emerged victorious, according to unofficial results.
Saleem bagged 47,649 votes, PTI’s Noreen Nishat Daha amassed 34,030 votes, while PPP’s Syed Wisaq was able to gain 15,059, according to unofficial results from all the 183 polling stations.
The voting count ended at 5pm after polling began at 8am as the seat fell vacant due to the death of PML-N leader Nishat Ahmed Daha. However, his wife Noreen was contesting on PTI’s ticket.
Earlier, counting of votes in the Khanewal district of Punjab began after polling time for the by-election of the PP-206 constituency came to an end at 5 pm on Thursday.
According to unofficial results from 73 polling stations out of the total of 183 stations, PML-N leader Rana Muhammad Saleem secured 16,787 votes while his competitor, PTI’s Noreen Nishat Daha, amassed 11,819 votes.
Meanwhile, PPP’s Syed Wisaq is in third place followed by Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan's candidate Sheikh Akmal, who currently is in fourth place.
Polling began at 8am on Thursday for the seat vacated due to the death of PML-N leader Nishat Ahmed Daha, however, his wife Noreen was contesting on PTI’s ticket.
PPP's Mir Wasiq, PML-N's Rana Saleem, and candidates of other parties are contesting the by-election.
