Malakand: A 4.2-magnitude earthquake jolted district Malakand and surrounding areas on Friday noon, however, no loss of property and life was reported.
Earthquake tremors were also felt in Swat, Mansehra and Swabi and surrounding areas.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.2 on the Richter scale and its depth was 226 km. The epicenter was reported below the Hindu Kush mountain range.
Meanwhile, the area residents, following the tremors, panicked and came out of their residences.
According to initial reports, no casualties have been reported so far in the earthquake.
