Islamabad: Opposition has demanded immediate resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan and fresh elections in the country following the victory of Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani on the general seat of the Senate from the federal capital.

According to details, former President Asif Ali Zardari contacted former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Head of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Maulana Fazlur Rehman and extended gratitude towards both leaders for ensuring victory of Yousuf Raza Gillani in senate polls.
