Renowned novelist Bushra Rehman passes away
Another great name in Urdu literature has bid farewell to the world.


Lahore: Acclaimed novelist and former Member of National Assembly (MNA) Bushra Rehman passed away in Lahore. She was 78.
Another great name in Urdu literature has bid farewell to the world.
The funeral prayers of the deceased Bushra Rehman will be offered at 4pm today at Garden Town.
Born in August 1944 in Bahawalpur, Bushra Rehman did MA in Journalism from Punjab University. She married Mian Abdul Rehman, an industrialist from Lahore.
The novelist started her political journey in 1983 and became a member of the Punjab Assembly in 1985 and 1988.
She wrote more than 17 novels and travelogues. Her famous writings include Allah Mian Ji, Bahisht, Barah e Raast, But Shikan, Chaand Say Na Khelo, Chara Gar, Chup, Ek Aawara Ki Khatir, Khubsurat, Kis Morr Par Milay Ho, Laazawal, Lala Sehrai, Lagan, Pyaasi, Sharmeely, Tere Sung Dar Ki Talaash Thi and Tuk Tuk Deedam Tokyo.
Many of her novels were also dramatized and garnered spectacular appreciation from people.
She was also the recipient of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence) for her contributions in literature.
