Lahore:  A video of a burqa-clad student named Muskan confronting a group of men trying to heckle her has gone viral on social media, prompting trends like #AllahuAkbar, #Shairni #Muskan on Twitter. 

As per brief detail, the Muslim girl— a second-year student of BCom in Karnataka’s Mandya district was allegedly heckled by a group as educational institutions across the state witnessed clashes over the hijab row.

Muskan went to the college to submit an assignment.  

It is pertinent to mention here that Karnataka is in the midst of a controversy with several educational institutes witnessing protests both in favour of and against the demand for banning the hijab. 

In the viral video it can clearly the men chanting "Jai Shri Ram" as they run towards her, the girl shouting "Allahu Akbar (God is most great)" in retaliation as she walks toward her class.  

Raising her fist to mark her defiance, the student shouted 'Allahu Akbar (God is most great)' thrice—faces the sloganeering.  

She is heard screaming, “Who gave them the rights to ask me to remove my burqa?”

As the issue snowballed into major controversy, Indian government declared three-day holiday for educational institutions across the state, even as voices across the country came in for and against the hijab issue.
