Foreign Ministry had achieved 22 targets out of 26.


Islamabad: Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday expressed reservations on both the performance of ministers and distribution of certificates among them.
According to the sources, the foreign minister wrote a letter to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Shehzad Arbab in which he raised questioned on the performnace evaluation criteria of ministries.
In his protesting letter, FM Qureshi said that in the first quarter of the performance agreement, the Foreign Ministry had achieved 22 targets out of 26. He added that out of the remaining four, one of the targets was done by 99 per cent.
Meanwhile, the reasons for delaying the remaining three projects were mentioned in a letter penned on October 27.
FM Qureshi mentioned that in the first quarter of the Performance Agreement, the State Department achieved 22 out of 26 targets. It also successfully achieved 18 of 24 goals in the second quarter.The Foreign Ministry ensured that no case was pending during the review period.
FM Qureshi said that the performance of the Foreign Ministry in the first quarter of achieving targets remained by 70 per cent. In contrast, to which, the average performance of the rest of the ministries was 62 per cent.
Shah Mehmood raised questions and said that no written guideline was issued for the third quarter.
He also took the stance that the Foreign Ministry also carried out high-level activities. No concerns were expressed about the work of the Foreign Ministry. No written guidelines on 30% performance review were provided.
