PSL 7: Peshawar Zalmi set 194-run target for Karachi Kings
Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first against Peshawar Zalmi
Lahore: Peshawar Zalmi set a 194-run target for Karachi Kings in the 19th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
Zalmi set mammoth target at a loss of six wickets. Openers Hazratullah Zazai and Muhammad Haris gave Peshawar Zalmi a flying start and shared a 97-run partnership in the initial 10 overs. Haris scored 49 runs off 27 deliveries with three fours and four sixes. He was bowled by Mohammad Nabi.
Hazratullah Zazai smashed his half century off 41 balls with six fours and one six. Qasim Akram dismissed him on 52. Liam Livingstone went to the pavilion after posting just 6 runs. Shoaib Malik and Ben cutting scored 31 and 26 runs, respectively, for their team.
Karachi Kings’ pace Chris Jordan bagged three wickets, while Muhammad Nabi, Umaid Asif, and Qasim Akram took one wicket each. It is pertinent to mention that Kings dropped at least six catches in the fixture.
Earlier, Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first against Peshawar Zalmi.
King’s opponent Peshawar Zalmi position are slightly better, they won 2 out of 6 although Peshawar Zalmi lost their previous match to Multan Sultans making them become the first team to enter the PSL 7 play-offs.
Meanwhile, Karachi Kings have lost all five matches played in the current edition and is ranked at the bottom of the points table. In its last match Karachi Kings was defeated by Islamabad United by 42 runs.
So far both the teams have played 16 matches in the PSL between them and Peshawar Zalmi has the upper hand with 11 win and Karachi Kings won 5.
