The 18-year-old, California-born skier is competing for team China.

Beijing: An American-born freestyle skier made history after becoming first action-sports athlete to pick up three medals at the same Winter Olympics on Friday (today).
The athlete—the new pearl of China— won gold for the freeski halfpipe today, to clinch her third medal at the Beijing games.
Eileen Gu went top with a first-run score of 93.25.
Gu extended her lead with 95.25 on her second attempt and had title secured before she even started her third and final run.
Canada's Cassie Sharpe took silver on 90.75 points, while another Canadian, Rachael Karker, claimed bronze on 87.75.
The 18-year-old, California-born skier is competing for team China and won a gold and silver in separate freestyle skiing disciplines as well.
She took gold in the big air event last week and added silver in the freeski slopstyle event on Tuesday.
Born in San Francisco to a Chinese mother and American father—raised by her mother and maternal grandmother, Gu opted to compete for China in 2019, and has seen her star soar since the start of Winter Olympics.
