Faulty undersea cable slows internet across Pakistan
The submarine cable fault was reported on Monday night 400kms off Pakistani coast— with users reporting issues with surfing speed

A fault in one of the international submarine cables, the CVM 4, has been reported, resulting in degraded internet services across Pakistan.
According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the submarine cable fault was reported on Monday night 400kms off Pakistani coast— with users reporting issues with surfing speed.
Country’s internet speed was reported to be poor on Tuesday morning, with PTA stating that the latency in service has been impacted particularly the subscribers of Trans World Cable.
As per officials, customers will suffer further connectivity challenges when internet traffic is high.
Earlier in December, a fault had also been reported in an international submarine internet cable but alternate measures made to provide uninterrupted service.
However, alternate arrangements to provide uninterrupted internet services to the users have been made by relevant service providers by obtaining additional bandwidth and capacity to meet the requirements.
