Major earthquake has jolted different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
Peshawar: An earthquake of 5.0 magnitude struck different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province and Pakistan's capital city on Wednesday, GNN reported.
According to Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) the earthquake with an intensity of 5.0 on the Richter Scale hit Mingora, Malakand, Battagram, Mansehra, Upper Dir, Swabi and other cities of the province, forcing people to flee their homes in panic.
The monitoring centre said that the earthquake had a depth of 175 kilometres with the epicentre in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.
No casualties have been reported so far.
On February 21, 4.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Swat and adjoining areas. The epicenter of the quake was in the Hindukush Region in Afghanistan. The depth of the earthquake was recorded 224km.
People in Swat and other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa felt the ground shaking after the Fajr prayers and rushed out of their homes. Fortunately, no loss of life or property was reported.
