COVID: Pakistan logs 758 cases, six deaths
According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 758 persons were tested positive while 6 died in the past 24 hours— taking Pakistan's COVID death toll to 30,287.
Islamabad: Pakistan is witnessing a significant drop in the daily coronavirus death count for the few days after over a month hike, the health department’s data showed Wednesday morning.
According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 758 persons were tested positive while 6 died in the past 24 hours— taking Pakistan's COVID death toll to 30,287.
Pakistan imposed new restrictions to curb the fast-spreading Omicron variant, hence, the positivity rate now stands at 1.29%. While the cumulative tally of the country has now climbed to 1,516,150.
As many as 1,467,868 patients have recovered from the disease.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 502,621 in the province with 13,520 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 569,978 in the province, while the death toll has reached 8,085.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 216,983 in the province with 6,288 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 35,380 confirmed cases while 376 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 43,106 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 788. On the other hand, there are 11,570 cases in GB with 191 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 134,620 cases in the capital city while 1,017 people have lost their lives.
