Japan decides to hold Olympics without foreign spectators
Tokyo: Amid COVID-19, Japan on Tuesday has decided to hold the Tokyo Olympics without foreign audiences.
According to the details, it has been decided to hold the Tokyo summer Olympics and Paralympics in in July this year without foreign audience.
The Japanese government said that the public has concerns about the influx of foreign spectators due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 patients around the world.
However, a formal decision concerning overseas fans is expected by the end of the March whereas the number of Japanese spectators will be decided by the end of April.
According to the previous schedule, Tokyo Olympics are to be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021, immediately after which the Paralympics are planned from August 24 to September 5, 2021.
The Tokyo Olympics will never happen if they don't happen now, said Tokyo Olympics chief.
