Karolina Bielawska: 23-year-old Polish student crowned Miss World 2021

Poland’s Karolina Bielawska—studying master’s degree— has been crowned Miss World 2021 at the contest’s finale in the Puerto Rican capital of San Juan.

Hailing from Łódź, the model is the second Polish woman in history to win the title, after Aneta Kręglicka in 1989.

The peagent took place at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico after being delayed by three months due to COVID-19 outbreak.

In the future, she hopes to become a TV presenter and motivational speaker. Her greatest passion is traveling and she is also a hard-working volunteer who helps the homeless.

The highly anticipated Miss World final was broadcast globally to over 100 countries. 40 semi-finalists were back in Puerto Rico. 

The glamorous ceremony featured several messages of support for Ukraine amid the ongoing invasion of the country by Russia, including an on-stage candle tribute at the televised event with a backdrop of the words: “A prayer for peace”.
