We have been accused of everything except spreading coronavirus: NAB Chairman
Islamabad: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (Retd.) Javed Iqbal has said that the anti-corruption watchdog has been accused of spreading everything except spreading coronavirus.

While addressing chamber of commerce in Islamabad, NAB Chairman addressed the allegations and vicious propaganda against the watchdog, adding no threat or blackmailing will be an obstacle in way of the bureau taking action against those involved in corruption.
"We have summoned all those people whom you couldn't look in the eye or summoned even in your dreams. When we asked them about their assets and properties, they had no answer and they thought that it was better to leave Pakistan,” he said.
NAB chairperson further said that the anti-corruption watchdog has recovered Rs. 487 billion since he assumed office.
Javed Iqbal said that those think that NAB has filed a wrongful reference against them may approach the court.
“NAB is also answerable,” he added.
He assured that NAB is not working against any business community and rejected accusations that businessmen were forced to move out of Pakistan because of anti-corruption watchdog.
“On several occasions, people who were named in corruption cases had requested permission to talk directly to the complainants for settlements and NAB had never objected to it,” he said.
Javed Iqbal said that the bureau was not pursuing tax cases against members of the business community anymore.
