Islamabad: The crucial National Assembly (NA) session started with the recitation of Holy Quran in the lower house and was wrapped up almost within two minutes, without discussion on the no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The NA met Friday (today) for crucial session on the request of the joint opposition to begin the process for the no-confidence motion filed against Prime Minister.

The meeting adjourned shortly after commencement on grounds of death of a parliamentarian, Khayal Zaman.

At the outset, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Noorul Haq Qadri offered Fateha for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) deceased MNA and those killed in recent acts of terrorism in the country.

The chair in his remarks said it is the parliamentary tradition to adjourn the house after Fateha on the first day of session held after the death of a member. He said this is done to honor the late member of the National Assembly.

On the no confidence motion, the chair said he will act in accordance with the constitution. Later the session was adjourned to meet again on Monday at 04:00pm.

Today's session started at 11 am, with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the chair.

All eyes were fixed on today’s vote to see if Prime Minister Imran Khan gets clean-bowled or opposition’s delivery is declared a no-ball.

The National Assembly issued 15-point agenda for first sitting of crucial 41st session which included the resolution for vote of no-confidence against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to sources, the joint opposition stalwarts held consultation on no-trust motion to be tabled against Prime Minister Imran Khan in the National Assembly today.

Yesterday, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari called on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shahbaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for consultation on no-trust motion.
