Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday hailed those involved in combating the coronavirus outbreak as the government is finally closing down the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

Imran Khan congratulated the NCOC team— the nerve centre of Pakistan's coronavirus response.

On his official twitter handle, the premier wrote, “Today, as NCOC closes down, I want to congratulate the NCOC team”.

He praised teams’ leadership for a professional, nationally-coordinated response to the pandemic.

He further added that Pakistan’s COVID-19 response was recognised by international agencies, terming the people in the field as one of the ‘globally most successful’.

As per reports, the responsibility to deal with the Covid-19 related data would be passed on to the National Institute of Health’s Centres for Disease Control (CDC).

Meanwhile, Minister for Planning Asad Umar in a tweet today said, National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) ends its operation today after Covid indicators touches all-time lows.
