Lahore: In a bid to facilitate inflation-hit public, the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the concerned authorities to operate metro bus service ‘free-of-cost’ during the holy month of Ramadan.
This was stated by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb.She said the previous rulers were making the excuse of “foreign conspiracy” to cover up their incompetence and corruption.
Maryam also shared pictures of former Punjab Chief Minister’s visit to metro bus station on social media.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said the Prime Minister has also directed to immediately prepare feasibility for Bhara Kahu and Rawat routes of metro bus service.
The spokesperson said the prime minister has directed to ensure quality travelling facilities for the residents of Islamabad and adjoining areas.
Earlier today, the premier went to inspect the Peshawar Metro Bus, at 7am, and reviewed the on-ground progress of the project.
He, then, ordered the first inquiry against the Khan-led government for a delay in the launch of a metro bus project pending for the last four years.
Shehbaz also instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to operationalise the Islamabad Metro Bus Service from April 16.
Moreover, Sharif also directed to run the metro bus service from Peshawar Morr to Islamabad International Airport, in order to facilitate the passengers travelling towards the airport.
Furthermore, he also suggested ensuring the installation of racks in the buses to accommodate the luggage of passengers en route to the airport.
