Torture on intelligence officer: Lahore police arrest PML-N's Salman Rafique and Mian Nauman
Garden Town police registered a case against seven unknow people


Lahore: Lahore police on Thursday arrested PML-N leaders Khawaja Salman Rafique and Hafiz Noman in connection with the case of torture on an intelligence officer.
Both of them reached the Garden Town police station to be arrested by the police under section 109 of the Pkaistan Penal Code.
The officer was tortured by the guards of Khawaja Salman and Mian Noman. His car was also damaged. A case was registered against seven unknown accused.
Police took four guards into custody previous evening with the help of Punjab Safe City camera footage and mobile videos.
The accused were shifted to CIA Model Town for interrogation, police said and added they would be produced in Model Town court tomorrow.
PML-N leader Khawaja Imran Nazir told reporters that police officers were interrogating PML-N leaders.
He said Salman Rafique himself took oath that he (Salman) came to know about the incident later, condemned teh incident and expressed solidarity with the family of the officer.
Nazir recalled that when Shahbaz Sharif was the Punjab Chief Minister, his son-in-law also had to stay in jail, saying PML-N believed in the supramacy of law.
"We will be declared innocent when law-enforcement agencies investigate the incident," the PML-N leader said, adding today Shahbaz Sharif is the Prime Minister, but "we arrested our own servants".
"Our leaders voluntarily surrendered to the police.The investigation will reveal that Salman Rafique did not really know. This will also be cleard from the mobile location."
Nazir said they had full faith in the institutions and judiciary.
