Faisalabad: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Hamza Shehbaz Sharif Saturday the devastation during the last four years was unprecedented.

"The country would have become the banana republic, had the Supreme Court not opened at night," he said while talking to reporters at Faisalabad Circuit House. Interior Minister Rana Sana Ullah was also present. 

He said some people wanted civil war in the country, adding after the electoral reforms general elections were the only solution of the people's problems.

In a response to a question, the chief minister, "we do not believe in political victimization, but those involved in looting and plundering will be held accountable".

The officers, he said, of good repute would be brought forward for serving and welfare of the people. "We will not make tall claims of overnight change.

He said free and fair elections are the only solution of economic problems.

The incumbent government turned darkness into light under the leadership Nawaz Sharif. "We are going to take such steps which will provide relief to the people and strategy is being adopted in this regard."

Hamza told a questioner that the vote of confidence was required only if the Chief Minister was nominated.

He said development projects worth Rs3,200 billion were given by the PML-N government in the past.

Historic development had been witnessed in Faisalabad during the tenure of PML-N government, he said, adding development projects in Faisalabad were among his priorities.

Later talking to reporters at the residence of Ch Sher Ali, the Chief Minister said, "we do not believe in political victimization but we will face Imran Khan in the political arena."

"Imran Khan wants to destroy the constitution in federal as well as in Punjab," he said, adding citizens would stand in queus to gett sugar and flour during Imran Khan's tenure.

Hamza said Imran Niazi robbed the people so the law will take its course.

The Chief Minister said some people want civil war in the country, adding Imran Khan was a huge threat like “a man wearing suicide-jacket”.

He said Imran Niazi did nothing but telling lies but we [government] would expose him.

He said the Governor Punjab is engaged in unconstitutional activities but "we are the people who have roots in public".

-- Pays a surprise visit to DHQ hospital Faisalabad --

In the first leg of his visit, Hamza Shehbaz paid a surprise visit to DHQ Hospital Faisalabad. He visited the waiting room, emergency block and Kidney ward of DHQ Hospital.

The CM reviewed the treatment facilities being provided in the hospital and inquired after patients.

Talking to the patients and their attendants, he assured that quality treatment facilities will be ensured to the common man in the hospitals.

He further stated that instructions have been issued to provide to the hospital to provide free medicines to the patients in the hospitals.

-- Meets PML-N leaders and parliamentarians --

Later, the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Hamza Shehbaz Sharif went to the resident of Ch Sher Ali, a senior PML-N leader.

Speaking on the occasion, he said Faisalabad is the party's stronghold and joint efforts would be made to further strengthen the party. 

Parliamentarians, ticket holders and party office bearers called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Hamza Shehbaz Sharif at Circuit House Faisalabad and  congratulated Hamza Shehbaz Sharif for becoming Chief Minister Punjab.

They lauded the active and vibrant role of Hamza Shehbaz and said that he will start the journey of progress and development from the same point where his father had left the same.

"We will not practice in the politics of revenge and the government will ensure maximum relief to the people. Imran Khan fell into the same pit which he dug for his opponents."

He said flour, sugar and medicine scandals were shining like an ugly stigma. 

Assembly members gave their recommendations and suggestions about the development projects in tier respective constituencies.
