Marriyum says PM Shehbaz to disclose London meetings' strategy in televised address to nation
The premier had to visit the UAE on short notice for condolences on the death of former Emirati president Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan

Islamabad: Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Saturday that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would disclose his strategic plan, formulated in the PML-N's meetings with party supremo Nawaz Sharif in London, upon his return to the country from the United Arab Emirates.
She told a presser in Islamabad that the party had to make decisions [in the meetings] with collective wisdom so there were long consultations and the strategic plan [devised] would be presented by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in an address to the nation.
Aurangzeb was also part of the PML-N delegation that met party supremo Nawaz Sharif in London.
She said the premier would consult his allied political parties on the strategy and all decisions before making his address.

Imran Khan lambasts govt over hike in petrol price
The new per litre price of petrol, diesel, kerosene oil and light diesel is Rs179.86, Rs174.15, Rs155.56, and Rs148.31 respectiviely.

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday lambasted the incumbent government for increasing the prices of petroleum products and power tariffs amid hyperinflation in the country.

It is pertinent to mention that the federal government has decided to raise the prices of petroleum products by 30 rupees per litre, with the hike set to go into effect at midnight tonight.
This was announced by Finance Minister Miftah Ismail while addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday night.
He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken this difficult decision in the larger interest of national economy. He said that it is a hard decision for the government to impose such kind of burden on general public.
The Minister said that new prices include Petrol 179.86 rupees per liter, High-Speed Diesel 174.15, Kerosene 155.56 and Light Diesel 148.31 rupees per liter.
He said the government is providing 56 rupees per liter subsidy on petroleum products as the previous government had fixed these prices which caused to increase in inflation in the country.
Miftah Ismail said that IMF Program cannot be approved for Pakistan without increase in petroleum prices.

Lahore: 29th Death anniversary of Pakistani film actress Nasira, popularly known as 'Rani' is being observed today.
Born in Lahore on December 8, 1946, Rani obtained tremendous success in late 1960s, when she was paired with renowned actor Waheed Murad.
In 1962 Rani made her screen debut in the film Mehboob. She also acted in two TV serials Khwahish and Faraib in the early 90s.
She remained one of the most successful actresses of Pakistan in the next decade and acted in both Urdu and Punjabi films.
She won a Nigar Award for the film ‘Mera ghar meri jannat’ in 1968. She also won another Nigar Award for best actress for her role in the film ‘Sona Chandi’ in 1986.
After the success of Hazar Dastan and Dever Bhabi Rani became a leading actress in Pakistani cinema.
Rani died of cancer at the age of 46 in Lahore on May 27, 1993.

Price of flour bag hikes by Rs180

Lahore: Following the hike in prices of petroleum products, the prices of 20kg and 10kg flour bags have increased by Rs180 and Rs90 to reach Rs980 and Rs490 respectively.

Similarly, the price of 10kg flour bag will be Rs490 after an increase of Rs90 as per the government’s notification.
The regional accounts officers have been directed in the notification to personally visit warehouses to ensure price change.
Directions have also been issued for preparing a report on flour stock at utility stores and warehouses.
