Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Sunday strongly condemned the suicide blast in Miranshah, North Waziristan in which reportedly six persons including three security personnel embraced martyrdom.

The Prime Minister expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives and conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families. He also prayed for the high ranks of the departed souls and for the bereaved families to bear the losses with equanimity, the Media Wing of the PM Office said in a press release.

The Prime Minister paid tributes to the sacrifices of Lance Hawaldar Zubair Qadir, Sepoy Aziz Asghar, and Sepoy Qasim Maqsood. He said that the entire nation felt pride over the supreme sacrifices of the armed forces of Pakistan which had always been a golden chapter in national history.

Such a display of valor and sacrifices had always remained a glowing principle of the armed forces of Pakistan which were kept alive by the martyrs, he added.

The Prime Minister also expressed condolences to the bereaved families of shaheed children including 4-year-old Anam, 8-year-old Ahsan, and 11-year-old Ahmad Hassan.

Expressing his resolve to root out the scourge of barbarity, he said that murderers of innocent children had been the enemies of Islam and humanity.

He said that they would not rest till the facilitators and culprits behind this heinous act were brought to justice.

Earlier on Sunday, a suicide blast occurred in the vicinity of Miranshah in North Waziristan, taking the lives of three soldiers and three children.

Senate approves Election Act Amendment Bill unanimously

Islamabad: The Senate on Friday unanimously passed ‘The Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2022’ and ‘The National Accountability (Second Amendment) Bill, 2022’.

According to details, the session of the Senate was held at Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday with Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani in the chair.

Federal Minister for Law Nazir Tarar introduced the NAB Amendment Bill while Murtaza Javed Abbasi introduced the Election Act Amendment Bill which was passed by the House unanimously.

On the occasion of the passage of both the bills in the Senate, the PTI members strongly opposed and the Chairman came on the dice of the Senate and chanted slogans of imported government.

Later, the House was adjourned till Monday at 4:00 p.m

On Thursday, the National Assembly passed the Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2022 – removing the use of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and effectively disallowing overseas Pakistanis from voting in the next general polls.

The bill was passed with a majority vote, with only MNAs belonging to the GDA opposing it.

Imran Khan condoles deceased PTI worker Ahmed Jan's family in Mardan

Mardan: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan offered condolence to the family of deceased PTI worker Syed Ahmed Jan.

According to details, Chairman PTI Imran Khan arrived in Mardan on a short visit. Imran Khan has expressed his condolences to the family of Syed Ahmed Jan, a worker who lost his life in a PTI rally yesterday.

Imran Khan said that Syed Ahmed is a martyr of Azadi March and with the sacrifice of people, real freedom is achieved.

He said that Allah has given the highest status to the martyrs. "Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and I will take full care of the family of Ahmad Jan", Imran Khan added.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood and other party leaders also accompanied Imran Khan.

On Thursday, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan offered condolences to the families of two deceased workers of the party.

Taking to Twitter, Imran Khan said that two PTI workers were martyred including Faisal Abbas Chaudhry from Lahore and Syed Ahmed Jan from Mardan.

PTI Chairman claimed the two workers were martyred as a result of Punjab police violence during PTI’s peaceful ‘Azadi March’.

Imran Khan said PTI will take full financial responsibility for the bereaved families.

Govt to take legal action against KP CM's unconstitutional move: minister

Islamabad: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Thursday said the federal government had decided to take legal action against the unconstitutional move of Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

KP CM Mehmood Khan used his position unconstitutionally by attacking the federation, he said in a statement issued here.

The CM's participation along with armed police officers in PTI’s ‘Fitna March’ was tantamount to an attack on the federation, he said.

The minister said opinion has been sought from law ministry for constitutional action against the KP CM.

Action would be taken in light of legal opinion obtained from the law ministry, he added.
The minister said federal government employees stationed at KPK have facilitated the PTI’s ‘Fitna March’. It was also decided to take action against them under the Estacode.

He said it has decided to take action against such officers for using their positions against the law. In KP, some federal police and administration officers became stooge of a political party, he said.
