Soldier embraces martyrdom in North Waziristan attack
During the intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Hamid Ali, 28, resident of Sargodha having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.
Rawalpindi: A Pakistan Army soldier embraced martyrdom following a terrorist attack on a check-post in North Waziristan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) in early hours of Thursday, the military said.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), terrorists fired at a military post in general area Datta Khel, North Waziristan District.
"Our troops initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location," added army's media wing.
However, it said, during the intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Hamid Ali, 28, resident of Sargodha having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.
The ISPR further said, "Sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area".
Lauding the sacrifices of the brave soldiers, it said the Pakistan Army is "determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism," adding that such sacrifices of our brave soldiers will not go unpunished.
