Google reveals another exciting feature for users
Google, the world's largest search engine, has introduced another thrilling feature that will allow users to view English subtitles when playing any audio or video on their browsers.
According to an international website, Google has introduced a live captions feature in its Chrome web browser. The tech joint has been testing live captions in Chrome’s desktop version since May 2020 but the feature is live now.
Further, any user who wants to take advantage of the real-time captioning feature requires installing Chrome’s version 89 on a computer or laptop.
For using the feature, a user needs to access Chrome's settings, search for accessibility and enable/disable live captions.
Enabling live captions will allow users to view English subtitles when playing any audio or video on their browser while disabling will hide the captions.
Note that the live caption feature was introduced by Google for Android phones in 2019, which was initially available for Pixel 4.
The feature was later introduced in other phones such as the Galaxy S20 and OnePlus 8, which worked on media files. The feature on Google Chrome also works on videos that have been muted on YouTube and Facebook. However, the feature is currently available for the English language and other languages are not supported.
