Quetta: At least nine people were killed and several others were injured in flash floods triggered by pre-monsoon rains that sruck parts of Balochistan on Thursday.
Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in various parts of the province.
Rainwater entered the populated areas of the province.
In Kohlu, Harnai, Barkhan, Dera Bugti and other parts of Dhaka, 9 people were killed and 21 others were injured and 16 houses were destroyed while hundreds of livestock were washed away.
According to the PDMA department, a relief operation is underway to deal with the flood situation and rehabilitate the victims.
Extreme levels of flood danger were announced in the Nari River, with floodwaters inundating several areas, including Kohlu, Koh-i-Sulaiman, Sibi and Dukki, and damaging hundreds of acres of standing crops.
