Lahore: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has ordered an extension of interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders till July 19 for vandalism that took place during party’s “Long March” to Islamabad on May 25.

According to details, PTI leaders including Ejaz Chaudhry, Mian Mahmood Rasheed, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Zubair Niazi, Nadeem Abbas Bara, Tariq Iqbal, Adeel, Zaman Khan, Afzal Azeem, Hassan Niazi, Murad Ras and Yasir Gilani appeared in court.

The ATC judge Abhar Gul Khan heard the bail and ordered an extension of interim bail till July 19.

While talking to media outside the court, senior PTI leader Dr Yasmeen Rashid said that “Pre-poll rigging is being carried out,” adding that, “we are parliamentarians, being entangled in high-handed tactics”.

“They [government officials] want to disrupt the election campaign,” she added.

The accused leaders have filed bail in the case registered in Shahdara, Bhati Gate, Shafiqabad and Gulberg police stations.

Islamabad Police registered 16 cases against PTI Chairman Imran Khan and other senior leaders, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Asad Umar, following the riots in the federal capital during ‘Azadi March’.
