Pak-Iran freight train service has been suspended after flash floods ‘washed away’ railway track

Chagai: At least seven bogies of the freight train, which was on its way to the provincial capital city of Quetta, derailed Wednesday near Dalbandin in Chagai district as the tracks were ‘washed away' by flash floods, GNN reported.
The freight train service between Pakistan and Iran has been suspended after the goods train derailed near the area of Chagai, stated GNN, adding that no one was injured in the incident.
According to official sources, a portion of the railway track between Dalbandin-Nok Kundi has been swept away by flash floods in the area after heavy rains— following which the carriages of the train derailed.
Rescue teams have been dispatched from Quetta to the area to restore the train service expeditiously, which officials expect would take 2 to 3 days.
