Paris: The France government has decided to ban the slaughter of poultry animals.

According to a foreign news agency, the French government has banned slaughtering of the chickens in the country. The new restriction will take effect from July 2021.
The Muslim community leaders expressed outrage regarding the ban just before commencement of the holy month of Ramadan.
A joint statement issued by the mosques directors of various French cities said that the decision by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food to ban slaughtering of chickens would create a negative impression for Muslims in the country. French government has also been informed of apprehensions over the latest ban.
The Muslim community has also strongly reacted to the French government’s latest decision to ban the slaughtering of chickens, saying that such restrictions are an obstacle to the free practice of religious teachings.
Besides France, other European countries, like Belgium, have taken similar steps against halal meat, as per the report.
Halal is the Islamic form of slaughtering animals, which involves killing through a cut to the jugular vein, carotid artery, and windpipe.
