Lahore: Advocate General of Punjab (AGP) Shahzad Shaukat on Wednesday tendered his resignation after the president of Pakistan administered oath of Punjab Chief Minister to Pervaiz Elahi.
According to details, the Advocate General’s resignation has to be approved by the Punjab Governor as per rules.
The apex court, yesterday, accepted the petition of Pervez Elahi and declared the ruling of the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Dost Mazari, ‘null and void’.
It is pertinent to mention here that the notification of the appointment of renowned jurist Shehzad Shaukat as Advocate General Punjab was issued on June 1.
