A ceremony was held at the Presidency on the occasion of Pakistan Day in which President Arif Ali conferred awards on personalities for their outstanding services in various fields.

Martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland were awarded Sitara-e-Shujaat while renowned preacher Maulana Tariq Jameel was given the Pride of Performance award.
Awards were also given to showbiz stars in recognition of outstanding services in the film industry, while Nishan-e-Imtiaz was given to folk singer Abida Parveen.
Actor Humayun Saeed and Renowned singer Ali Zafar were conferred the Pride of Performance award.
Whereas President Alvi bequeathed Resham with the honourable Pride of Performance award for her acclaimed contributions in the industry.
Whereas, Legendary actress Bushra Ansari and actor Talat Hussain received the Sitara-i-Imtiaz award.
However, the Nishan-i-Imtiaz award was bestowed upon renowned painter Sadequain Naqvi, singer Abida Perveen and late poet Ahmed Faraz.
