Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Tuesday expressed solidarity with the people of Balochistan over loss of lives due to severe floods and urged the nation to step forward for the victims.
On his official Twitter handle, the premier wrote that the federal government was undertaking joint efforts for the relief and rehabilitation of flood-affected people.
He added that the devastation caused by flash floods is ‘indescribable’.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Provincial Administration, NDMA and Pakistan Army for playing an active role in the rescue and relief operation.

Shehbaz Sharif directed the concerned authorities to deliver medicines and food items to flood affected people on priority basis.
He also directed timely payment to the heirs of persons who died in the floods in Balochistan and keeping all the records of provision of assistance to affectees intact.
On the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he said a joint survey would also be conducted to assess the damages caused by the floods to crops, livestock and the infrastructure.
