Renowned dramatist and playwright, Haseena Moin dies aged 79
Karachi: Renowned Pakistani dramatist and playwright Haseena Moin has passed away in Karachi early Friday morning.
According to details, the renowned writer had been battling cancer for the past few years, but the main cause behind her death has not been revealed yet.
Moin's funeral prayers will be held today after Asar in Nazimabad area of Karachi's district central.
She wrote several famous plays for radio and television including Ankahi, Dhoop Kinare, Tanhaiyaan, Aahat Des Pardes, Pal Do Pal, Aansoo, Kasak, Parchaiyan and Parosi.
Born in Kanpur, Moin held a post-graduate degree Master of Arts in History from Karachi University.
In 1987, she was awarded with the Pride of Performance award for her services towards performing arts in Pakistan.
