Sachin Tendulkar tests positive for Covid-19, goes into quarantine
Mumbai: India’s legendary former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has tested positive for Covid-19 after experiencing mild symptoms.
The 47-year old sportsman announced the news on his twitter handler in the form of a note.
Tendulkar wrote that he has tested positive for novel coronavirus despite taking all the recommended precautions, while rest of his family members have tested negative.
“I’ve quarantined myself at home and am following all the necessary protocols as advised by my doctors. I want to thank all the healthcare professionals who are supporting me and many others across the country. Take care all of you,” he added.

The former cricketer recently participated in the Road Safety World Series Challenge veteran’s tournament in Raipur.
India is one of the hardest hit countries by coronavirus. A total of 62,258 new cases of coronavirus infections were reported in the country on Friday, out of which 36,902, or 60 per cent, came from Maharashtra. A total of 291 deaths were reported on Friday, which included 117 in Maharashtra and 59 in Punjab.
