Flour sellers attribute rise in price to increase in wheat prices and post flood supply crisis


The price of flour on Friday reached the highest level in the country's history, the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) stats showed.
According to the FBS, the price of a 20kg flour bag in Karachi and Quetta reached Rs2,400. After Peshawar and Quetta, flour became expensive in Lahore and Rawalpindi as well.
Flour is being sold up to Rs120 per kg in Quetta. The price of 20kg flour bag in Quetta surged by Rs480 in the last 15 days, while the price of 20kg flour bag in Karachi also jumped Rs260.
FBS further says, a 20kg flour bag is being sold in Hyderabad for up to Rs2,260, while in Khuzdar, a 20kg bag of flour is being sold in Rs2,200.
In Larkana it is up to Rs2,100, while in Sukkur, the price of 20kg flour bag has gone up to Rs2,040.
