Nation remembers Latif Kapadia on his 18th death anniversary
Karachi: Legendary Pakistani actor Latif Kapadia is being remembered on his 18th death anniversary across the country on Monday (today).
Latif Kapadia was born on March 27 in Maharashtra before partition of India and begun his career with stage drama named as ‘Shehnaz’.
He is considered as one of the famous actors of Pakistan television.
He did 45 theaters with prominent actors including Khalid Ahmed, Zia Mohiuddin, Rahat Kazmi. First time, he appeared in the drama ‘Sheshay Kay Admi’ in 1967 and gained fame due to his acting in hilarious characters.
On March 23, 2001 Latif Kapadia received the Pride of Performance award from the President of Pakistan. He got the award for his services towards theatre in Pakistan.
The veteran actor died of cardio-respiratory arrest on March 20, 2002. Kapadia was buried in Mewashah graveyard in Karachi.
