PM appeals philanthropists, affluent people to come forward to help flood victims
Flood relief activities being carried out by the government with its limited resources
Rawalpindi: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has appealed the philanthropists and affluent people to come forward and help the flood victims, especially in Sindh and Balochistan.
Addressing a meeting at Noor Khan Airbase Rawalpindi before his departure to UK, he said maximum food packs should be sent to the flood-hit areas in Balochistan and Sindh to meet the food requirement of the newly born babies.
The Prime Minister said the philanthropists can send their relief items through any channel, including NGOs, Army Relief Centers, or any other organization.
He said the flood victims also in need of warm clothes, quilts, blankets, and beds.
The Prime Minister said during his meetings with various heads of state on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Samarqand, he informed them about the flood relief activities being carried out by the government with its limited resources.
Shehbaz Sharif said the government is carrying out a joint survey to assess the losses caused by the recent floods.
He said the federal and provincial governments as well as Pakistan Army are working jointly to compensate the affectees and rehabilitate them.
