‘Resignations from assemblies’; PPP summons crucial CEC meeting on April 05
Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has convened an important meeting of its Central Executive Committee (CEC) on April 05 to discuss the issue of resignations from assemblies.

According to statement issued by party, the meeting will be held at Bilawal House in Karachi at 1:00 PM.
PPP chairman has directed all CEC members to attend the meeting in person or via video link. The participants will also pay tribute to former premier Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto on his death anniversary.
The statement added that country’s overall political situation would be reviewed followed by a media briefing.
The two main opposition parties of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) — the PPP and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) —are at loggerheads after the former got Senator Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani elected as Leader of the Opposition in the Senate without consulting other parties in opposition alliance.
The PPP leadership is also under fire over the issue of resignations and long march which PDM had postponed after differences emerged in key political parties of opposition’s alliance.
The PDM Chief and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced that PPP would deliberate on the matter of resignations in its CEC and inform them.
