The first World Cup held in the Middle East kicked off with a spectacular opening ceremony inside Al Bayt Stadium, a facility designed to resemble a traditional Bedouin tent.
The night started with flashy fireworks and BTS sensation Jung Kook onstage. The ceremony opened with Oscar-winning actor Freeman narrating a video about “football’s ability to unite”.
