Croatia to take on Brazil as FIFA World Cup quarter-finals kick off
Both teams will head toward the match with the possibility of a semi-final clash against the winner of the Netherlands vs Argentina match.
Doha: The quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup kicks off on Friday as Croatia and Brazil lock horns at Education City Stadium.
The match will start at 8 pm Pakistan Standard Time.
Brazil will play their 17th world cup quarter-final—eighth successive one— which is stunning because this is the 22nd edition of the championship.
As a stark contrast, Croatia will play their third quarter-final tonight.
In its relatively short World Cup history, Croatia has exceeded expectations of most by finishing third on its debut in 1998 and reached the final in Russia four years back.
Since placing third at their first World Cup finals back in 1998, Croatia has been involved in extra time play in seven of their past eight knockout games at major championships.
Notably, since Euro 2020, they haven't lost in any of their last 20 games across all competitions and have gone unbeaten in their last 10 international matches.
In the meantime, five-time champions' Brazil with their thrilling performance against South Korea in the round of 16, made a strong signal to the rest of the competition.
Both teams, however, will head toward the match with the possibility of a semi-final clash against the winner of the Netherlands vs Argentina match.
