Four terrorists killed, one soldier martyred in Bannu IBO

Rawalpindi: Four terrorists were killed and a solider was martyred Saturday in an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) conducted by security forces in Jani Khel area of Bannu district.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and conducted the successful operation.

The killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.

Weapon and ammunition was also recovered from the killed terrorists.

However, during intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Muhammad Wasim having fought gallantly, embraced martordom.  Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.

Earlier on December 30, three soldiers of Pakistan Army were martyred and two terrorists were killed in an intense exchange of fire in general area Arawali, Kurram district.

The martyred soldiers included Subedar Shuja Muhammad (43), resident of Khairpur; Naik Muhammad Ramzan (32), resident of Khuzdar; and Sepoy Abdul Rehman (30), resident of Sukkur.

It added that the Pakistan Army was determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of its brave soldiers further strengthened its resolve.

The National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf paid moving tribute to Pakistan Army for the vigorous action against terrorists in the district Kurram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a statement, he paid homage to the soldiers who were martyred during action against terrorists.

He said: “The entire nation stood behind their forces for the elimination of terrorism from the country. The elements challenging the writ of state are real enemies of the country and they will be dealt with iron hands”.

Speaker deeply sympathized with the bereaved families and prayed for the salvation and eternal peace of the departed soul.
