Jetstar flight makes emergency landing in Japan after apparent bomb threat, five injured


Tokyo: A Jetstar flight heading from Narita Airport near Tokyo to Fukuoka made an emergency landing at an airport in Nagoya, central Japan, on Saturday, after an apparent bomb threat.
As per details, the bomb threat was made via an international call from Germany around 6am local time. A man said that he had put a bomb on the aircraft in the cargo hold.
The plane departed from Narita at 6:36 am and made an emergency landing at Nagoya's Chubu Airport at 7:40am.
There were 136 passengers and six crew members on board.
As of 10:00am local time, no explosives or other suspicious items were found, according to officials.
"A Jetstar Japan flight travelling from Tokyo (Narita) to Fukuoka diverted to Chubu Airport, landing normally at 7:41am local time today after a potential security incident," a statement read.
Out of an abundance of caution, passengers disembarked via emergency slides. We know this would have been distressing for passengers and thank them for their cooperation.
"Our teams are supporting them and working to get them on their way as quickly as possible.
Social media posts by apparent passengers showed video and photos of the scene, with several saying that the threat had prompted the emergency landing.
The Chubu Airport spokesperson said the incident is being investigated and the airport has suspended flights.
