The Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab has already issued a notification in this regard.

Lahore: All educational institutions in Punjab have been reopened on Monday (January 9) after winter break despite the prevailing smog situation and cold weather in the province.
According to details, both public and private schools and colleges in the province will resume educational activities starting today.
The Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab has already issued a notification in this regard.
Earlier, several media outlets reported that the Punjab government has decided to extend winter vacations in the province on account of prevailing cold weather. However, such stories have turned out to be fake as School Education Department (SED) and HED have decided not to extend the winter holidays.
Originally, SED announced winter vacations in schools from 24 to 31 December. The schools were meant to resume on January 2, but the closure was extended till January 8, on account of a sudden drop in temperature.
