DSP among three cops martyred in Peshawar terror attack
Three police officials were killed in Peshawar after terrorists attack a police station
Peshawar: At least three police personnel, including a DSP, were martyred in a terrorist attack on Sarband Police station in Peshawar.
According to details, the terrorists attacked the Sarband police station with long-range rifles and hand grenades. The attack was confirmed by senior superintendent of police operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi.
Later, a contingent of law enforcement personnel rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. A search operation is underway in the area to detain the terrorists, who are at large.
The deceased have been identified as DSP Badaber Sardar Hussain, Irshad and Jehanzeb.
The funeral prayers of the martyred police personnel were offered at Police Lines Peshawar on Saturday (today).
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has also condemned terrorists’ attack on Police Station Sarband and termed it a sorrowful incident.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that the sacrifices of martyrs would not go waste. He said that police have fought with bravery and repulsed the attack.
Mahmood Khan added that the whole nation is standing shoulder to shoulder with the police in the war against terrorism.
He prayed for the eternal peace of the martyrs and expressed his heartiest sympathies and condolence with the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Sarband police station in Peshawar.
In a statement, he expressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of police personnel in the incident.
Rana Sanaullah paid tributes to the sacrifices of police personnel.
