Earthquake jolts Peshawar, adjoining areas
Panic arose among citizens due to the jolts, prompting them to quickly vacate their homes.
Peshawar: Earthquake tremors of strong intensity shook the residents of Peshawar and its surrounding areas on Thursday, GNN reported.
The exact magnitude of the earthquake is still unknown. However, the initial report estimates that the quake was of 5.2 magnitude on the Richter scale.
The epicentre of the earthquake was the Hindukash region with a depth of 190 kilometers.
Panic arose among citizens due to the jolts, prompting them to quickly vacate their homes.
The tremors were also felt in Charsadda, Malakand, Abbottabad, Swat, Swabi, Dir, Mansehra, Chitral, Battagram and other adjoining areas.
No casualties or damage have been reported so far.
It is pertinent to mention here that a 5.8 magnitude earthquake jolted Islamabad and several cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) last week.
