According to details, major cities of the country including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Quetta experience as major electricity breakdown due to technical fault in high-tension electricity supply line between Quetta and Guddu on Monday morning, GNN reported.

According to details, the power outage has hit at 7:34 am in 22 districts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, cities in Multan region and others.

The areas of Lahore including Canal, Road, Mall Road and other are facing the disruption in electricity supply while Orange Line and Metro Train services have also been suspended.

The electricity supply has been suspended to 117 grid stations in Islamabad.

In Karachi, the electricity is unavailable in Johar More, Nazimabad, Gulishtan-e-Johar, Pehlawan Goth, Bhittaiabad, Golimar and other areas.

It is stated that it could take hours to restore the power supply across the country.

People from different cities have reported the electricity failure to social media.

Turning to Twitter, the Ministry of Energy confirmed that, “According to initial reports, the system frequency of the national grid went down at 7:34am today, causing a widespread breakdown in the power system,” adding that system maintenance work is under progress.
