The Secretary of the State has strongly condemned the terrorism attack, saying that ‘terrorism for any reason at any place is indefensible,’


Washington: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday extended the deepest condolences to the families and loved of the victims of suicide attack at Police Line Mosque.
Mr. Blinken said that terrorism for any reason at any place is indefensible.
Taking to Twitter, the US Secretary of the State said, “ Worshipers at a mosque in Peshawar endured a horrific attack today, which killed and injured many. Terrorism for any reason at any place is indefensible. I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims,”.

Earlier, the US Embassy in Islamabad also condemned the terrorists’ attack at Police Line mosque in Peshawar.
It said, “The U.S. Mission to Pakistan extends its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of the horrific attack at a Police Lines mosque in Peshawar on January 30. The United States stands with Pakistan in condemning all forms of terrorism,”.
A suicide bomber, who was standing in the first row of the Jamat offering Zuhr prayer at the mosque of Police Line, detonated himself when the prayer leader loudly read ‘Takbeer’, according to the witnesses.
As a result of the attack, over 59 people were martyred and 157 others injured.
President Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Shehbaz, Army Chief Asim Munir, PTI Chairman Imran Khan and many others strongly condemned the suicide attack at the mosque.
