The locals say that they have killed two leopards’ cubs after they attacked their cattle in the area.

Khyber: Police and wildlife on Friday arrested a man for his alleged role in killing cubs of leopard in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
The local people of district Khyber killed two leopards by excusing that their cattle were attacked.
According to the reports, the leopards entered the populous area because of shortage of food. The police said that the people opened fire at leopards after they attacked their cattle.
“The People of Khyber are not aware yet that killing or hunting animals is illegal after merging of tribal areas into KPK”, said the police.
The Wildlife officials said that at least six leopards were killed during two years' period.
On other hand, the locals said it often happened that leopards came to populated areas, attacked their animals and it was the main reason behind their motive of shooting them down.
