Lahore: Former flamboyant batsman of West Indies Vivian Richard is likely to join the Quetta side, said reports citing sources.
Sir Viv Richards, considered one of the best cricket players of his time, had been with Gladiators since the inaugural season of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
According to Quetta Gladiators’ team manager Azam Khan, they have been facing some issues with Richard’s visa processing.
He said “We have provided all the documents and we are hopeful he will join Quetta side soon,” adding that as soon as things are done, the former batter will join the “Purple Force” as the mentor.

Richard was known for his aggressive batting.
He was the first batsman in One Day International (ODI) cricket who smashed 150 in an inning of the match. He led the West Indies through their most dominant period in cricket.
Richards aka ‘King Viv’ was a prolific run-scorer for the West Indies at Test level with 8,540 runs from the 121 matches he played.
