Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has left for Berlin on a two-day official visit to Germany on Sunday (today).

Speaking before his departure today, the minister said that Pakistan enjoys cordial relations with Germany.
Terming Germany as Pakistan's most important trading partner in European Union, he said matters related to economic relations, bilateral trade, investment, defense and people to people contacts will come into discussion during the visit.
He will also exchange views on bilateral relations, collaboration in various sectors and other matters of mutual interest.
He will meet his German counterpart Heiko Maas, who has invited him to the visit, president of the German parliament Wolfgang Schauble along with other German officials and diplomats.
While expressing confidence that the visit will be fruitful, the minister stated that he will apprise German leadership about regional situation, Afghan peace process and peace and security environment of South Asia, expressing confidence that the visit will be fruitful.
Earlier in March, German Ambassador to Pakistan Bernhard Stephan Schlagheck assured apprising German companies and investors about the potential sectors and opportunities available in Pakistan to bring business communities of both the countries closer.
This year, Pakistan and Germany are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and both countries are planning to undertake a number of activities in this context.
