More NADRA, passport offices to be opened in Karachi, says Sheikh Rasheed
Karachi: Federal Interior Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Sunday has announced that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is planning to open more NADRA and Passport offices in Karachi.
While addressing a press conference in Karachi today, the minister revealed that during his tenure, over three hundred thousand visas have been issued and twelve thousand visas rejected.
He said E-Passport system will also be inaugurated from Karachi by June this year.
The minister also said that FIA Cyber Crime is being strengthened and the new capable youngster will be recruited.
The Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan is currently fighting with all mafias including hoarders of the holy month of Ramadan and that Shehzad Akbar is looking into all the matters of Sugar and Money Laundering mafias.
Referring to NA-75 Daska defeat, the minister said that democracy won in the by-election.
The statement came after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Nosheen Iftikhar won the by-election in NA-75 Daska and secured 111,220 votes, whereas Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ali Asjad Malhi obtained 92,019 votes.
“PTI candidate was defeated by a thin margin and we are proud that Imran Khan has a sizable vote bank in Daska,” he added.
He further said that it was the PTI’s luck that it had to deal with such an inept opposition (Pakistan Democratic Movement).
